Impossible to achieve US objectives in Afghanistan without Pakistan help: US Senator

WASHINGTON: (APP) Chairman US Senate Committee on Armed Services, John McCain has said that it will be immeasurably more difficult to achieve US objectives in Afghanistan, without the cooperation of Pakistan.

In an article published in the "Financial Times", he urged the United States, Pakistan and Afghanistan to overcome their differences and fight their common enemy in their own national interests, the region and the world.

Senator McCain acknowledged that earlier US had viewed the bilateral relationship with only through the prism of Afghanistan. He said in order to achieve real progress; the US must make clear its enduring commitment to Pakistan's stability and economic growth.

He lauded Pakistan's operation for cleaning up bomb making factories of terrorists in North Waziristan.
