NEW DELHI - India faces the worst diplomatic blow from allies US, Russia and France over anti-Muslim riots in the capital Delhi.

The United States, France and Russia have issued security alert for their citizens in India due to growing incidents of mob violence by Hindu extremists.

In their separate statements, the US and Russian embassies in Delhi and France's foreign ministry cautioned their citizens against travelling within the country.

They have been instructed to avoid gatherings.
