NEW DELHI - Indian Army, Airforce Senior Officers were embarrassed at media questions over claimed surgical strike in Pakistan when asked about the number of casualties and proofs of shooting down F-16.
When Air Vice Marshal RGK Kapoor was asked if he could put a number on the casualties India claimed to have inflicted on the 'terrorist camp' in Balakot, he said it was "still premature" for him to do so.
When questioned, the IAF officer was also unable to provide substantiating evidence for the success claimed by India in the said provocation.
Likewise, the 'proof' the IAF offered to substantiate its claim of shooting down a Pakistani F-16 was just a metal fragment from what it claimed was an AMRAAM missile that was equipped on a Pakistani jet.
