PSL final will boost Pakistan's economy: Experts

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Pakistan Super League (PSL) final will help give a boost to country's economy by generating money and bringing sports tourism in the country.

According to a private news channel report, as per details, billions of rupees will be in circulation during the event and government will earn millions of them.

The final will portray a positive image of Pakistan in the whole world which will also restore confidence of inverters to bring foreign investments in Pakistan.

Businesses of hotels, sports, textile industry, airlines, advertisements, restaurants, and dozens of others will profit with the arrival of players and thousands of cricket fans.

This economic boost will also help to revive cottage industry.

According to economic experts, this process is called sports tourism' and it holds high significance. These type of activities increase government revenues and promote indigenous culture.

People experience a change in routine during events like this which helps different businesses. Food attracts the tourists and fans, textile production increases by making shirts, caps and other accessories, and the poor can run their circle by selling these items. Tickets will also generate millions of rupees for the government.

Talking to a private news channel, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Vice President Manzoor Ul Haq said that four thousand events take place in the entire world annually, and lobbying to host the mega events is done by developed countries for as long as ten years.

He termed sports events compulsory for economic and cultural progress.

Famous economic expert Dr. Qais Aslam said that economy of a country is directly linked with its security situation. Hosting PSL final in Lahore will strengthen the economy of Pakistan and encourage foreign investors to come in the country, he added.
