New lawyer appointed in former President Pervaiz Musharaf High Treason case

ISLAMABAD – New lawyer has been appointed in former President Pervaiz Musharaf High Treason case by the federal government.

Law Ministry on Wednesday submitted a notification of appointing lawyer in high treason case against former military ruler Pervaiz Musharaf in a special court. The ministry sought time till September 24 for lawyer to prepare the case.

As per details, a two member bench including Justice Nazar Akbar and Justice Shahid Karim heard the case. Law Ministry submitted a notification of appointing advocate Raza Bashir as lawyer of Pervaiz Musharaf.

Special Court on August 22 had appointed advocate Raza Bashir out of the list of 14 lawyers which the Ministry of Law and Justice submitted before the Court.

However, today (Wednesday) when a two-judge Special Court heard the case Raza Bashir infomed that his notification was issued today morning therefore he could not prepare the case. He sought some time for preparation.

The Court accepting his plea adjourned the case until September 24.
