Occupied Kashmir's status as disputed territory cannot be changed by Modi's false assertions: Ali Gilani

In occupied Kashmir, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has rejected Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s statement that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.

In a statement in Srinagar, Gilani said issue of Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute and it can not be changed by these false and arrogant assertions.

He said Kashmir had never been a part of India as it was illegally occupied by Indian through military power on 27th October, 1947.

He asked Indian rulers to shun their stubbornness, accept the ground realities and come forward to address the lingering dispute according to aspirations of Kashmiri people.

APHC Chairman also appealed to people of South Kashmir to completely boycott fourth phase of so-called Indian Parliamentary elections to be held on Monday.

In a statement in Srinagar, Senior APHC leader and Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai said New Delhi was using its National Investigation Agency and Enforcement Directorate as a tool to suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement.

He condemned continued illegal detention of JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, the ED notice to the daughter of incarcerated senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, and NIA summons to another jailed Hurriyat leader, Altaf Ahmed Shah’s son.

The occupation authorities booked two persons including a cleric under draconian law, Public Safety Act, in Pulwama district and lodged them at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.
