Tayyaba torture case: indictment process challenged by accused

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday sought reply from police in a case challenging the process of indictment against Raja Khurram and his wife Maheen Zafar in Tayyaba torture case.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani heard the case filed by the former additional session judge and his wife challenging the indictment process against them.

The parents of victim's girl submitted a third affidavit in the court, in which they stated that Raja Khurram had informed about missing of Tayyaba on December 27, and also lodge a report in the concerned police station.

They further said they had inquired the whole episode and admitted that a false first information report had been registered against former additional session judge.

They said they forgave the accused unconditionally and did not want to follow the case against them.

The court served notice to police and sought reply until May 5.

It may be mentioned here that earlier the Supreme Court had already rejected an identical affidavit submitted by the girl's parents in Tayyaba torture case. (APP)
