More water release by India: Flood warnings issued for several villages in Pakistan

LAHORE – Water release by India has caused flood in several villages of Pakistan.

The water level in River Sutlej has surged causing a low level flood in the River after India has spilled more water into River Sutlej.

According to details provided by Flood Forecasting Division, the water flow at Ganda Singh Head Works reached 33,000 cusecs triggering low level flood in Sutlej.

India has spilled 66,000 cusec water into Pakistan s territory putting River Sutlej s adjoining villages at risk of flood, which include Chanda Singh Wala, Dhoop Sari, Bhikhiwand, Basti Kalunjar among many others.
