ECP introduces GIS polling scheme management system  

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Nationwide training of Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) on GIS Polling Scheme Management System (PSMS) and Result Management System (RMS), which started on October 24, continued on Thursday.

The ECP is conducting this training for nationwide implementation of GIS based polling scheme management on google maps. The training is being conducted in two phases.

In first phase master trainers of all provincial headquarters are be trained, who will further impart training to the staff of field offices in their respective provinces.

Parliamentarians assets to be probed by ECP

Both phases of this training will be completed on December 2, 2016. UNDP is technically assisting ECP in this project and has provided 350 geo-tagging devices in this regard.

After the training, process of data collection like geo coordinates and snapshots of all the expected polling stations will be initiated.

Addressing the participants of training session, the officials of ECP said that the training of ECP officers was part of general elections training as in past such trainings were held in near dates to general elections.

ECP suspends membership of parliamentarians

They said that training of ECP officers was one aspect of general elections which was being considered seriously and the training of master trainers have been completed, who will further train the officers to improve their professional skills.

They said that unlike past practice, the commission would also start a comprehensive training of election staff for next general elections before announcement of election schedule.
