BAGHDAD- Iraq's Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi says he has ordered the military to take full control of the country's borders amid escalating tensions.
A statement said that during a phone call with his Turkish counterpart today (Tuesday), Al-Abadi said his troops will prevent foreign fighters from using Iraq for cross-border attacks against Turkey.
Earlier Turkey had planned to send its military to northern Iraq to crush the Kurdish militias from striking Turkey.
