Good news for Pakistani umrah and Hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabian government will now allow children link under the age of seven to enter the Two Holy Mosques link so long as they are vaccinated link against Covid-19, the country’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced.

With children link under the age of seven being allowed to enter the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, the Ministry advised that anyone within Saudi Arabia link wishing to perform Umrah will need to obtain a permit from the “Tawakkalna” or “Eatmarna” apps.

Their health status on the apps must show up as “immune,” and their data must be updated through the “Absher” system.

The ministry stressed that permits for recurrent Umrah will be issued once every 10 days.

When asked whether this arrangement will continue during Ramadan, the ministry clarified that any updates will be announced in due course.

The decision comes as the Kingdom continues to vaccinate children link the ages of five and 11.
