Law being framed to regulate moon-sighting system, NA informed

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan informed the National Assembly today that the upgradation of Mangla dam will be completed by 2023-24.
He told the House during the question hour that up-gradation of all ten units of Mangla Dam will also enhance dam’s generation capacity.
Ali Muhammad Khan assured that the funds being collected under the Dams’ fund will be spent transparently on the construction of Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dams.
Parliamentary Secretary for National Food Security Muhammad Ameer Sultan assured that the farmers whose wheat crop got damaged in recent rains will be fully compensated.
He said despite losses caused by rains, the wheat target set for the current year will be achieved.
Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri told the house that the government is in the process of framing a law to regulate the moon sighting system in the country in order to ensure harmony in observance of religious festivals.
He said religious scholars of all schools of thought, SUPARCO, met office and ministry of religious affairs will be given due representation in the proposed moon sighting system.
