Gilani deplores character assassination campaign against Hurriyat leadership

In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, has deplored that the Indian rulers have launched a character assassination campaign against the Hurriyat leadership through their investigating agencies.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the issuance of series of notices to the Hurriyat leaders and appealed to the world human rights bodies to send their teams to visit jails in India and occupied Kashmir and take stock of the miserable plight of the Kashmiri detainees.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown was observed in Islamabad district on the second consecutive day, today, to mourn the killing of two youth, Burhan-ud-Din Ganai and Safdar Amin by Indian troops in Bijbehara town, yesterday.

The occupation authorities deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength in Islamabad and Bijbehara towns to prevent people from staging anti-India demonstrations.

The High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir in a statement in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of illegally detained Dukhtaran-e-Millat leader, Fehmeeda Sofi, in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail.

On the other hand, a protest rally was taken out in Muzaffarabad against the illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders including Muhammad Yasin Malik and Aasiya Andrabi.
