ISLAMABAD: (APP) Handwara Girl allegedly sexually harassed by Indian Army still in Police Custody.
The girl hailing from Handwara area of Kupwara, Indian occupied Kashmir was molested by an Indian soldier earlier this month and later Indian Army had uploaded her video on social networking sites.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the case of the 16-year-old girl, who is under unlawful police detention and is being subjected to daily intimidation and harassment, was heard by the High Court for the third time.
A petition filed by her mother in the High Court of the occupied territory said that her daughter was under constant police surveillance against her will. She sought her immediate release.
The petition had been clubbed with the petition filed by the High Court Bar Association. Beyond the important legal issues, the main thrust of arguments to be advanced was that the minor girl be set free and out of the oppressive police custody immediately.
The court heard the Advocate General and the President of Bar President for three hours. After hearing the both sides, the court listed the case on 2 May for further hearing and directed the puppet authorities and India to file their responses.
