Saudi Arabia launches high-speed railway line

Saudi Arabia has launched high-speed railway line connecting Mecca and Medina within two hours at a speed of four-hundred and fifty kilometers per hour.

King Salman of Saudi Arabia inaugurated a long-awaited high-speed railway line at a cost of six point seven billion US dollars.

Talking to media in Jeddah, Transport Minister Nabil al-Amoudi said, the Haramain Express line is linked with Mecca and Medina via the Red Sea city of Jeddah will transport sixty million passengers annually.

The trains will eventually connect five stations in Mecca, Jeddah and Medina.
