FBR Chief reveals massive growth in tax returns filing in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - The tax returns per day had risen by a whopping 127 percent as compared to last year, informed Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Shabbar Zaidi.

In a Twitter post, the FBR chief shared details of the tax return filed so far. As per the records, the number of tax returns filed in 2019 till October 25 stand at 918,027, as compared to 585,209 tax returns filed in the same period last year.

The records further showed that the average tax returns filed per day in 2019 stood at 18,735 as compared to 8,242 tax returns filed per day in the same period last year.

The FBR chairman further informed that from November 1, 2019 strict enforcement will be made against unauthorised interaction between FBR staff and business community. “Business community is suggested to report to FBR if any person contact through any manner without proper authorisation. No harassment," he tweeted.
