ISLAMABAD – Federal government takes important decision over issue of COAS General Qamar Bajwa tenure extension.
The federal government has approved the summary granting extension in the tenure of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa. The cabinet granted the approval unanimously during a meeting.

The summary will be sent to President Dr Arif Alvi for approval.
The cabinet also approved amendment to the Act pertaining to extension. The meeting also discussed the verdict of the Supreme Court.
Talking to the media after the cabinet meeting, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said that under Article 243, Prime Minister Imran Khan has the power to advise the President to extend the service tenure of the Army Chief and the same procedure was followed in the matter.
