Women’s camp for T20 Asia Cup starts

ISLAMABAD: A three-day training camp of Pakistan women`s cricket team started at the National Cricket Academy, Lahore on Friday.

The camp is in progress to prepare the team for the T-20 Asia Cup being held in Kuala Lumpur from 3rd to 10th of next month.

The event`s participating teams include India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand and hosts Malaysia.   

Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof said her players were fully prepared for the said event, hoping her team would try to reach the final.

She said though India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are good contenders, our team is very well balanced and we can beat any team on the given day.

The Pakistan squad will leave for Malaysia tomorrow.

Pakistan will play its first match against Thailand on June 3, against Bangladesh on June 4, against Sri Lanka on June 6, against Malaysia on June 7 and against India on June 9.AP
