Shahid Afridi picked up and stolen from streets of Karachi

KARACHI – Former skipper and all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who is still winning the hearts of people not only in Pakistan but also in the world by his mesmerizing performance, could be enlisted among the victims of Karachi, where street crime is on the rise, after this video.

A Twitter user shared the video, showing cricket fans of Karachi took away a dummy of Shahid Afridi, which was put on roads as part of the decoration ahead of the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) title decider match. Posters of other players were also placed on the side of the Karachi roads.

In the video, two men who are on a motorcycle can be seen carrying the stolen dummy of the famous cricketer after the final match ended. The suspects appeared to be the fans of Afridi.

Karachi Kings’ Shahid Afridi, who is also among the leading wicket-takers in the PSL this year, could not play the eliminator match against Peshawar Zalmi due to a recurring knee injury. The kings had to face defeat against Zalmi in the match.

Pakistan’s largest city hosted this decade’s biggest match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi – the finalists of PSL – as international cricket returns to the country after a gap of almost nine years.
