Saudi Arabia intercepts seven ballistic missiles fired from Yemen

Saudi Arabia's Air Defense forces intercepted seven ballistic missiles fired from Yemen towards the kingdom on Sunday night.

Spokesman of the Saudi-led coalition forces Colonel Turki al-Maliki said three missiles were randomly fired towards Riyadh city, one towards Khamis Mushait, one towards Najran and two towards Jazan, to target civilian populated areas.

He said all the missiles were intercepted and destroyed by the Saudi Royal Air Defense forces.

However, interception of the missiles led to the fall of fragments on some residential areas, killing an Egyptian expatriate. APP/AFP
