Pakistan celebrates Eid ul Fitr with religious zeal and fervor

Nation celebrates Eid-ul-Fitr with religious zeal and fervor on Monday.

Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneebur Rahman announced the sighting of Shawwal moon after a meeting of the committee in Islamabad on Sunday evening.

Eidul Fitr is celebrated after the end of Ramazan, the month of fasting, to thank Almighty Allah.

The day will dawn with special prayers after fajr in mosques for the wellbeing of the ummah, progress and prosperity of Pakistan, and pledge to make the country a citadel of Islam.

After sunrise, the faithful will throng mosques, eidgahs and open places to offer Eid prayers.

After offering eid prayers, the faithful will meet each other and exchange Eid greetings.

However, this year's eid celebrations have been eclipsed by the Ahmadpur Sharqia oil tanker incident, which claimed 138 lives and injured over 150 others. The incident has saddened the entire nation.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa says we will overcome the challenges by staying united and steadfast as a nation.

While sharing grief of bereaved fellow Pakistanis on Eid, he said Pakistan Army stands shoulder to shoulder with victims of terrorism and fire.

Congratulating the nation on Eid-ul-Fitr, he said that we will celebrate Eid with simplicity to express solidarity with the bereaved families of the recent incidents.
