Masood urges world to take notice of prevailing situation in IOK
MUZAFFARABAD: President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan has urged the United Nations Security and Council (UNSC) and the UN Secretary General (UNSG) to take serious notice of the prevailing situation in Occupied Kashmir.
He was addressing a convention of British Councilors, Lords and Meyers organized by the Pakistan High Commission in London.He urged the world body to immediately intervene to stop massacre and illegal arrests in the occupied valley.
The AJK President said that instead of playing the role of a silent spectator, the UN Security Council should seriously play its effective and strong role in resolving the Kashmir issue.
He urged the Councilors, Meyers, and Lord Meyers to raise the Kashmir issue in the relevant legislative bodies, conventions, conferences, and parliament. He stressed the need for raising questions, presenting resolutions and holding programs on the relevant forums in this regard.
Speaking about AJK, he said the state is quickly becoming the center of economic and investment activities.He said the AJK has fully become a part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor and the government is now focused on the infrastructure development like building roads, power generation, and provision of better health and education facilities.APP/AFP
