Fawad Hasan Fawad snubbed in Supreme Court of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Fawad Hasan Fawad was snubbed today in the Supreme Court of Pakistan over the appointment of the MD PTV Atta Ullah Qasmi.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar reserved the judgment on the appointment of PTV MD Attaul Haq Qasmi.

The court reprimanded PM’s Principal Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad, saying that the authority does not mean the person of one’s choice be appointed.

In his remark, the CJP warned Pervez Rashid of the consequences of not hiring the counsel and said that he could face action under Article 62.

Reprimanding Fawad Hassan Fawad, the CJP asked him that whether he had performing all job verbally. He said that they will get the audit of

Fawad Hassan Fawad replied that the Secretary to PM, Secretary to President and the governor had no authority. He said t hat the verbal order of the prime minister is implemented.

The additional attorney general told court that the appointed of Attaul Haq Qasmi was approved on the order of the Information Ministry.

He said that the board had sent the appointment summary, the Establishment and Finance Divisions confirmed it and then the prime minister approved it.

Ayesha Hamid, counsel for Attaul Haq Qasmi, said that Attaul Haq Qasmi had not applied for the job.

Justice Ejazul Hassan remarked that Attaul Haq Qasmi was so innocent that he accepted the offer without look at it.
