Exercise Tahafuz-e-Sahil kicks off in Arabian Sea by Pakistan Navy

KARACHI: Pakistan Navy conducted Tahafuz-e-Sahil exercises for the security of the coastal areas. Special Operation Forces, Pak Marines, Pak Navy Ships and helicopters took part in coastal exercises.
As per details, exercise Tahafuz-e-Sahil was conducted by Pak Navy to check the efficacy and security arrangements of Jinnah Naval Base, Ormara and associated infrastructure against any terrorist threat.
Different units of Pak Navy and Law Enforcement Agencies displayed high degree of professionalism and coordination in coastal exercises.
Pak Navy Spokesperson said that Pak Navy regularly hold such exercises in order to validate defense plans and security of bases at coastal areas. Pak Navy exercises specially focus on Gwadar port in order to ensure maritime security.
The spokesperson added that the security of Gwadar port has a lot of importance due to upcoming developments related to CPEC project and the initiation of economic activities in our maritime region.
