ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Cricket Board (PBC) Chairman Ehsan Mani has some good news to share with the cricket fans in Pakistan.
Mani has intensified its effort to bring back top-notched international cricket to the country.
PCB has invited Cricket Australia to send its team to Karachi or Lahore for two one-day matches of its 5-matches series, which is scheduled in UAE in March next year.
There are indications that CA may accept the PCB’s request. Media reports said that Cricket Australia is considering the request.
PCB will also extend the same request to Cricket South Africa.
According to media reports, PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani has left for South Africa on a mission to convince Cricket South Africa (CSA) to support the return of international cricket to Pakistan. ------------------------------
Mani has said that his main priority remains the return of full international cricket to Pakistan and the country hosting the International Cricket Council (ICC) events.
Mani will request CSA officials to continue their support for the return of international cricket to Pakistan as the World XI which toured Pakistan included several South African players.
Mani will request them to also play a short limited-overs series sometime in 2019 in Pakistan.
“We are in ongoing discussions with the PCB about the ODI tour in March next year. We recognize that the PCB and the Pakistan government are taking every step to improve the security for touring cricket teams and we’ll continue discussions with the PCB as the safety and security of Australian players and support staff is our number one priority,” said a CA spokesman in Melbourne.
