IS module plan to carryout terrorist attack in Delhi: Indian NIA

NEW DELHI - Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed that IS module is planning to carryout terrorist attack in Delhi and adjoining areas.

NIA conducted raids across 16 locations in Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi against Harkat ul Harm e Islam - a suspected terror module styled on the lines of the Islamic State.

It is suspected that the IS module had plans of carrying out attacks across the country - especially in Delhi and its adjoining areas.

The NIA has reportedly detained several suspects during the raids and will question them. UP ATS has confirmed that five persons have been arrested in Amroha. Most of the raids in UP have occurred in the western part of the state including Meerut, Hapur, Amroha and Ghaziabad.

Zee News correspondent Pramod reported from Jafarabad that the raids here began from 0400hrs and that a team of close to 20 vehicles with several officials came in for the operation.
