Two new names surface for slot of President of Pakistan by joint opposition

ISLAMABAD – The names of MMA Chief Fazal ur Rehman and ANP Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan have surfaced for the slot of President of Pakistan as the deadlock still persisted between the alliance parties of opposition over the nomination of the joint presidential candidate.

A per reports, the Pakistan peoples’ Party (PPP) has refused to retract the name of its nominee for the presidential election after the PML-N expressed reservation on the name of Aitzaz Ahsan.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Sunday contacted PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif and told him Asif Ali Zardari has refused to take back the name of Aitzaz Ahsan.

It is pertinent to mention here that the opposition leaders suggested to take the name for the presidential candidate from MMA and ANP. According to the sources, the grand alliance of the opposition may be agreed on the name of JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman or Asfandyar Wali Khan for the candidate of president.
