Number of confirmed coronavirus cases along with death toll rises further in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 12,723 on Sunday after new infections were confirmed in the country.

The province-wise break up of the total number of cases as follows:

Total confirmed cases: 12,723

• Sindh: 4,232

• Punjab: 5,378

• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 1,793

• Balochistan: 722

• Islamabad Capital Territory: 235

• Gilgit-Baltistan: 308

• AJK: 55

Deaths: 269

• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 93

• Sindh: 78

• Balochistan: 11

• Gilgit-Baltistan: 3

• Punjab: 81

• Islamabad Capital Territory: 3

Officials have recorded more than 2.8 million cases and 201,000 deaths since the virus emerged in China in December.

Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentary Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hassan Murtaza has claimed that the coronavirus is spreading in the country due to the confused policies of the federal government.

Hassan hoped that coronavirus would not spread in the country and all their fears are proven wrong. He also urged the nation to stay in their homes.
