Former PM Nawaz Sharif lands into yet another trouble from the NAB

ISLAMABAD - Former PM Nawaz Sharif lands into yet another trouble from the NAB.The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sunday issued arrest warrants for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in Jang-Geo Group CEO Mir Shakilur Rehman’s property case.

The anti-graft watchdog had issued summons to the former premier, who is in London for his treatment since November 2019, directing hime to appear before a joint investigation team but he did not turn up.

NAB, according to sources, has decided to get the PML-N supremo declared proclaimed offender in the case.

NAB claimed that Nawaz — when he was the Punjab chief minister — allotted a 54-kanal plot of land in 1986 to Rehman.

On March 12, the bureau arrested Mir Shakilur Rahman after he failed to furnish the supportive evidence in connection with the land which he had acquired during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif.
