President Donald Trump's special message for PM Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD - Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi met US President Donald Trump in New York on Tuesday and discussed matters relating to bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States.
Foreign Minister Qureshi told PTV that President Trump, during the meeting held on the sidelines of 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, extended good wishes for Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He said he apprised the US President of the historic Pak-US relations which needed to be re-phrased. President Trump, Qureshi said, agreed with his view and said the United States intended to re-build the relations.
The foreign minister said during the meeting he found the attitude of President Trump positive. Qureshi said on this occasion he also met US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his wife. A special meeting with Secretary Pompeo was scheduled for October 2, he added.
