DUBAI - International Cricket Council (ICC) Chief Executive, David Richardson has told the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to put to ground the political issues and start playing bilateral series.
Talking about the legal dispute between the two boards, the top official observed that ICC wants the resumption of bilateral ties between the two countries.
We obviously don’t enjoy the fact that two country boards are in dispute between each other. It is a matter between India and Pakistan. We would like the resumption of ties between the two nations on a bilateral basis.
The two countries had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), deciding to play six bilateral series between 2015 to 2023, however, the Indian cricket board has backed away from the agreement while maintaining that the PCB has violated some of the clauses mentioned in the agreement.
Falling prey to political tensions, cricket has suffered and the fans have been longing to see the two nations play full-fledged series for a long time now.
