Maryam Nawaz Sharif likely to be granted bail on Monday

LAHORE - Maryam Nawaz is likely to be granted bail as the two-member bench of Lahore High Court will take up bail plea of Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case on Monday.

Earlier the Lahore High Court today granted bail to PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.

A two-member bench, headed by Justice Baqar Najafi, heard the petition and announced the judgment.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif had filed the bail application for release of Nawaz Sharif from the custody of National Accountability Bureau.

Meanwhile, Islamabad High Court today sought detailed medical report of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif till next Tuesday on a plea, seeking suspension of his imprisonment sentence on medical grounds in Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference.

The doctors informed the bench that a five-day cycle of treatment of Nawaz Sharif would be concluded on coming Monday and after this a detailed medical report could be prepared.

A Division Bench, comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani, conducted the hearing on petition filed by PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, seeking suspension of imprisonment sentence of Nawaz Sharif.

Nawaz Sharif also moved a petition to become party in this case following the directives of the bench.

The two-member bench of Lahore High Court will take up bail plea of Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case on Monday.
