Comprehensive bill being prepared for protection of journalists: Marriyum

Marriyum Aurangzeb said govt, media houses will collectively work to ensure protection of journalists.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says a comprehensive bill is being prepared for protection of journalists.

Speaking at the National Assembly's standing committee on Information in Islamabad on Wednesday, she said inputs of the members of the committee have also been incorporated into the bill.

She said it is the first time in the country's history that such a bill is being introduced which will soon be presented before the cabinet for approval.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said the government and the media houses will collectively work to ensure protection of the journalists.
