PM Nawaz Sharif reaches Gilgit to attend oath taking ceremony of Governor GB


GILGIT: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Gilgit to attend the oath taking ceremony of new Governor of Gilgit Baltistan Mr. Ghazanfar Ali Khan. PM Nawaz announced to construct the road from Skardu to Gilgit with the cost of 50 billion. He was addressing the oath taking ceremony. Nawaz said that federal government has a vision of strengthening democracy in Gilgit- Baltistan. Government is aware off the issues of Gilgit locals. Government will try its best to overcome the issues of Gilgit. Gilgit- Skardu road would become the part of China- Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC which will generate employment and economic activity. Road will complete in the tenure of PML N. Nawaz also assured that Gilgit would become more prosperous than Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar. PM further stated that government is fully focused on power generation and 27 megawatt hydel project would be constructed for Gilgit. PM also distributed the compensation cheque among the earthquake victims of Gilgit Baltistan.
