China gives stern warning to US over counter sanctions threat

ISLAMABAD - China says that it would take all necessary measures to firmly counter and retaliate against the US' threatened sanctions over a national security law for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Zhao Lijian, told a press briefing when asked about the US threats of sanctions against China.
White House National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien said on Sunday that the US government will likely impose sanctions against China if the latter implements its national security law.
