Another leading PIA female lawmaker tested positive for Novel Coronavirus

ISLAMABAD - Another leading PIA female lawmaker tested positive for Novel. Coronavirus Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Akram tested positive for coronavirus on Monday.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders has quarantined herself at home in Islamabad.

Wajiha Akram played key role in several educational projects including teleschool.

She said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was making sincere efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus in the country.

She hoped that Pakistan will soon overcome the pandemic that has killed over 1,100 people across the country.

Earlier this month, PTI’s provincial lawmaker from Gujranwala Shaheen had died from the coronavirus days after he contracted the virus.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases surged to 56,349 in Pakistan on Monday, while the death toll stands at 1167.

According to National Command and Control Center (NCOC), more than 1,784 cases of coronavirus were reported while 24 people succumbed to the disease in past one day.

As many as 17,482 patients have recovered from the disease, while the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the COVID-19 cases.
