KABUL: Moulana Haibutullah Akhunzada appointed as new Afghan Taliban Commander
As per the Afghan Media and the international sources Afghan Taliban have officially acknowledged the death of their supreme commander Mullah Akhtar Mansoor.
The Afghan Taliban Shura supreme council session was held at some undisclosed location and Moulana Haibutullah Akhunzada was appointed unanimously the new Afghan Taliban Commander.
Moulana Haibutullah Akhunzada is associated with Afghan Taliban since 1985 and served as the head of the religious affairs wing of the Afghan Taliban in Afghanistan and the Taliban government in Kabul.
As per the reports Siraj Uddin Haqqani and son of the ex. Supreme commander Mullah Muhammad Umer, Mullah Muhammad Yakub have been appointed as the naib Amirs of the Afghan Taliban.
