ISLAMABAD:AJK President Sardar Masood Khan has urged United Kingdom to play its due role in resolving longstanding Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiris.
He made these remarks while addressing a joint press conference in Islamabad on Saturday along with Member of British Parliament Afzal Khan.
He said India has been creating hurdles for the political, diplomatic and peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute for the past seventy years. He said India has falsely and maliciously portrayed the peaceful political struggle in the occupied Kashmir by terming it as militancy and terrorism.
AJK President strongly condemned the unabated killings, blinding, maiming and dishonoring of Kashmiris by the Indian occupation forces.
Responding to a question about the civilians living on the LOC, the AJK president said that India is deliberately escalating the situation by violating the ceasefire agreement to divert the World attention from its atrocities in Occupied Kashmir.
On the occasion, MP Afzal Khan said the international community must take cognizance of the human rights violations taking place in IOK. APP/AFP
