Korea to provide $3.4mln for national capacity building in Punjab,GB

ISLAMABAD:Republic of Korea will provide 3.4 million Dollars under the UNESCO Malala Fund for national capacity building to realize girls' right to education in Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan.

A Funds-in-Trust Agreement was signed between Korean International Cooperation Agency and UNESCO at UNESCO Headquarters at Paris in France.

Director General UNESCO Audrey Azoulay  and Permanent Delegate of the Korea to UNESCO LEE Byong Hyun signed the agreement.

UNESCO-Malala Fund was established in 2012 at the initiative of Pakistan with seed money of 10 million US dollars as an initial contribution. APP/AFP
