Complete shutdown observed in Pulwama against killing of four youth by Indian troops

In occupied Kashmir , several people were injured when Indian troops used brute force against peaceful protesters in Pulwama town today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, people took to the streets in different areas of Pulwama town, today, and staged forceful demonstrations against the killing of four youth by Indian troops . Indian troops fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters in Pulwama town, today.

Complete shutdown was observed in Pulwama and Shopian districts, today, against the killing of the youth. All shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed while traffic was off the roads.

On the other hand, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar said that the Hurriyat leadership has always been in favour of talks to settle the Kashmir dispute. A spokesman of the forum said that the Kashmiris being the most affected party to the Kashmir dispute for the past 72 years naturally wanted its resolution.

The President of Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, chairing a party meeting in Srinagar, today, said Kashmir is a political dispute and should be resolved politically and democratically in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.

Meanwhile, a constable of Indian police’s intelligence wing committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle at Sujwan training center in Jammu. This incident raised the number of such deaths amongst the Indian police personnel and troops to 434 in occupied Kashmir since January 2007 till date.

Indian troops launched cordon and search operations in different areas of Pulwama, Baramulla and Kupwara districts today.
