Wafaqi Mohtasib: Performance in last 3 years

ISLAMABAD (APP): Senior Adviser Law and Grievance Commissioner Wafaqi Mohtasib Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar has said that during the tenure of present federal ombudsman M Salman Faroqui from January 2013 to July 2016 248,984 public complaints have been decided filed against federal government departments.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that only less than 1% representations against findings of Wafaqi Mohtasib are filed to the President of Pakistan. He claimed that at present there is no backlog of complaints in federal ombudsman secretariat.
He further stated that implementation ratio of Wafaqi Mohtisab are 93% which has been satisfactory. He apprised about the speedy justice said that although legally, public complaints are to be decided in 60 days, but from January 2015 the time limithas further been reduced to 45 days and reviews are being decided in 45 days as per instructions of federal ombudsman Pakistan M Salman Faroqui.
He said that Wafaqi Mohtasib Salman Faroqui initiated Swift Complaint Resolution (SCR) System for deciding complaints at common man door steps and for resolution of their issues against federal government departments and their complaints are being decided in 15 days at district & sub-divisions level.
He said at present 36 districts and 90 sub-divisions of Pakistan are being covered under this initiative and now it is being extended to all 450 districts/sub-divisions of the country.
He said that Wafaqi Mohtasib with the efforts of donors have released numbers of people during the month of holy Ramazan and their fine amounting to Rs 7.7 million had been paid.
He said gift items (Cloths/toys etc) had also been distributed amongst women, juvenile and children numbering 3096 inmates throughout jails of Pakistan. Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar Grievance Commissioner for for overseas Pakistanis and senior adviser to Federal ombudsman Pakistan said that in addition to these Day Care centre at Kot Lakhpat jail at Lahore has also been established for children living with their mothers.
He also said that with coordination of universitiesJail Libraries are being upgraded and Vocational training facilities are also being arranged in jail.
He also said that after the visit borstal jail Faisalabad rehabilitating of barracks will be undertaken with the help of donors. He also said that bed sheets are being provided for inmates and arrangement of free education is being ensured in specific jails in first phase with the help of donors .
Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar said that the office of Federal Ombudsman has been striving for speedy justice since 2983 and working under President Order No (1) of 1983 & ombudsmen Reforms Act 2013 and has jurisdiction over all Federal Government agencies/corporations etc & Federally Administered Tribal Area.
He further said that one Window Facilitation Desks have been established at Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Sialkot and Faisalabad airports for resolution of publiccomplaints/Overseas Pakistanis and 12 Federal government agencies are present round the clock on these desks for resolution of Ops' issues.
He said that more than 12000 complaints have been addressed by these desks since their establishment at airports of Overseas Pakistanis and Overseas Complaints are connected through online with departments and decided in 45 days.
He said number of systemic issues related to Foreign office, OPF, Protectors, Passport and NADRA have been resolved and regular monthly meetings are being held at Federal Ombudsman Secretariat.
OPF, Ministry of Overseas and other departments have been advised to celebration of a day in every year to recognize services of Overseas Pakistanis.
He said that special instructions have been already issued to relevant departments for facilitating the of Overseas Pakistanis in Companies and Tax Registration and easy Remittances with State Bank of Pakistan.
Senior adviser said that with the advise of M Salman Faroqui special steps have been taken for 2.5 million pensioners of federal government departments for their automated pension system and all federal govt departments have further been advised to finalize pension case before six month of civil servant retirement and their pension should be paid through their bank accounts.
He said that Pensioner facilitation room has already been established in Establishment Division for pensioners facilitation and now instructions have been issued to establish such rooms I every govt departments for pensioners facilitation.
He said after taking these steps many problems related to pensioners are being resolved-instantly and special cells for pensioners have also been established on the instructions of M Salman Faroqui in all federal govt departments.
He finally said that instructions have been issued to all federal government departments to timely complete ACR of their respective civil servants and to design an automation system.
