Punjab govt farmers cooperatives scheme to boost agriculture sector

MULTAN (APP): The Punjab government has earmarked Rs 500 million to evolve farmers cooperatives with an objective to empower them economically.

The agriculture department sources said the step would put healthy impact on increasing per acre yield with less expenditures.

Nearly, 20 to 30 percent saving is being expected after formation of farmers cooperatives.

The government will also enable farmers to purchase inputs or sell their produce in wholesale for maximum earning.
