CPEC western route: Kundal Section of the project inaugurated

DERA ISMAIL KHAN (APP): The construction work on Kundal Section of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) started here on Sunday.
During a brief ceremony held at Yarak (Dera Ismail Khan) the project manager Major Abdul Nazeef of National Logistic Cell (NLC) told media persons that 54 kilometer long with green-belt would be completed within 18 months.
He said that 54 kilometer long road containing two inter change at Abdul Khel and Yarak would be completed within specified time frame of 18 months.
The NLC officials informed media that the ongoing developmental package had been divided into three separate portions. Camps had already been established for the project at Kata Khel and Yarak.
The officials informed that the package contained four overhead bridges apart from 7.3 meter green belts.
The media was informed that Kundal was the Zero-point of the project.
The officials told that the entire project would be supervised by a supervisory team comprising Brigadier Masood, Col Zaheer.
The arrangements for stringent security measures have also been taken in this regard.
The ceremony was also attended among others by senior officials of NLC including Major Farhat Abbasi, Major Zafar, Major Abdul Qadeer, media people.
Meanwhile, as a traditional practice besides distributing sweets among the participants, a sacrificial animal was slaughtered on the stalled project venue on this occasion.
