Chairman Ruet e Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb announced decision over the Rajab Moon sighting in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD - Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has announced that Rajab moon has not been sighted in the country meaning 1st day of the month will fall on 26 February Wednesday.
The announcement was made after the moon sighting committee held a session in the central office of Karachi’s Met Department. The session was chaired by Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.
The sessions of zonal committees were also held in major cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar. However, no evidences of the moon sighting were received from any part of the country.
Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman told media that 30th Jamadi-us-Sani will fall on Tuesday while Rajab will start from February 26 and Shab-e-Mairaj 2020 will be observed on March 22nd.
The seventh month of the Islamic calendar, Rajab, is regarded as one the four sacred months in which warfare is prohibited.
