Process of accountability across the board should not be stopped at any cost: Legal experts

Verdict in Al-Azizia Reference Case is a very interesting, we have witnessed that a political bigwig was questioned, prosecuted and punished. Accountability should be across the board and this process of should not be stopped at any cost. Process of Accountability is slow and we have to be patient for complete justice. The Sharif family was given full opportunity to defend and they still have options to appeal.
We have witnessed for the first time that NAB is serving without any political pressure or influence.NAB is an independent institution and it should serve without any external pressure. People should expose corruption but whistle-blowing should be for the sake of national interest.
It is manifesto of PTI to eradicate corruption, bring back the looted money and serve justice without any prejudice and discrimination.NAB is an independent institution and this is a wrong perception that government is influencing NAB against opponents.
Good governance, corruption free society and independent functioning of institutions will bring very positive impacts on economy of the country. Corrupts are being punished and this will portray a very positive image of the country. Opposition party will exploit the verdict but it would not be able to destabilize the process of accountability. It is priority of PTI led government to end corruption and nepotism.
The court has given a very balanced and impartial verdict in Al-Azizia Reference Case against Nawaz Sharif. We welcome this decision and hope that the processes of accountability will not stop. The opposition has option to appeal in superior courts. The more details of the verdict will be unfolded in coming days. This is a historical decision because a powerful is being punished for the first time in the history of Pakistan.
As far as the verdict is concerned, it would be appropriate to comment after reading the complete judgment details. The case is significant because it is trial of a high profile political leader, former Prime minister and head of a political party.
It is logical and natural that opposition will attack NAB and courts by calling it a political revenge. These slogans should not be taken seriously because opposition will exploit the decision .Opposition have level of appeals before them and there is a possibility that superior courts may come with a different verdict.
Legality is served and opposition's reaction is quite expected. Every case has its own merits and decision of one case cannot affect the other.
It would be appropriate to comment after reading the complete verdict. The court has given its verdict after detailed hearing and we should not question the credibility of the court. Flagship and Al-Azizia cases are about the property of former Prime Minister and he has been proved guilty in Al-Azizia Reference Case. Nawaz Sharif has option to appeal in superior courts against court's verdict and Supreme Court holds the final authority.
This is a very wrong perception that government is taking revenge from the opposition and NAB is serving any political agenda of the government. NAB is an independent institution and PTI led government believes in the independent working of the institutions.
It is credibility of PTI government that it ensured the independent functioning of institution. We do not believe on political revenge. It is a good omen that justice is served and a bigwig is punished for corruption and a fine example for future is set.
