Burhan-Havelian section of Hazara Motorway status

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The Havelian-Burhan section of Hazara Motorway would be completed by June 2017 with the cost of Rs 32 billion, Chairman National Highway Authority (NHA) Shahid Ashraf Tarrar said Thursday.
Briefing National Assembly Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi about the Hazara Motorway here, he said Burhan-Havelian section has been divided into three sections and contracts have already been awarded to three different companies.
Five interchanges would be constructed from Havelian to Burhan for smooth traffic flow, said a press release issed here.
He said the Hazara Motorway (Havelian-Thakot) project would be completed in 3.5 years, while Havelian-Mansehra section would be completed by May 2018.
Chairman NHA assured deputy speaker about the resolving traffic jam issue from a 10 to 12 kilometer stretch from Havelian to Abbottabad.
A comprehensive project has been devised for resolving traffic issues in Abbottabad city.
A survey has already been completed for widening the roads of Abbottabad city, funds have also been released and construction would be started after completion of land acquisition process.
Chairman NHA said that the PC-1 for constructing an elevated road project in Abbottabad city was being prepared. Section four is being implemented for initiating land acquisition process.

Former governor Kyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi asked NHA to consider constructing underpasses and elevated road in Abbottabad city.
