China reassures its support for Pak counter terror efforts

ISLAMABAD:Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that CPEC is making good progress and several projects have been completed under the project.

He said this while talking to Vice President of China Wang Qishan in Beijing today (Tuesday).

Foreign Minister said CPEC will not only contribute to economic development of Pakistan but also have a salutary effect on the development of the region. Speaking on the occasion, Vice President Wang reaffirmed China’s support to Pakistan’s independence and sovereignty and its counter-terrorism efforts.

He said that China will continue to contribute to Pakistan’s economic development. He also appreciated Pakistan’s active participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and looked forward to participation of the President of Pakistan in the SCO Qingdao Summit to be held in June this year. Earlier, Foreign Minister held talks with Uzbek Foreign Minister Kamilov Abdul Aziz Khafizovich on the sidelines of Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and discussed matters of mutual interest.
