The contentious news about recognizing the Jewish state of Israel is once again making headlines. When Saudi Arabia enters into a treaty with Israel, which other Islamic countries might join in this endeavor? Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen has stated that if Israel signs a peace treaty with Saudi Arabia, up to eight or seven more Muslim countries could potentially sign peace agreements with Israel.
According to international news agency Jerusalem Post, Eli Cohen made this statement on Friday after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to the United Nations General Assembly.
Reportedly, peace with Saudi Arabia would mean peace with a broader Muslim world.
The Israeli Foreign Minister mentioned that he has met with at least eight other Muslim countries, but their relations with those important Muslim nations are not focused on peace. These countries are located in Africa and Asia, but they did not disclose the names initially, later stating that they had maintained direct contact with some of them.
