KARACHI (APP): The 18th Annual Bonsai Exhibition was organized by Pakistan Bonsai Society from Friday.
An announcement here said that the event would continue till September 27 at Zamzama Park in Karachi.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Friday with the attendance of Toshikazu Isomura , Consul General of Japan in Karachi and Khuwaja Muhammad Mazhar , the President of Pakistan Bonsai Society.
Around 150 Bonsai works aged between 5 and 50 years are being displayed.
Bonsai is a traditional Japanese art of growing artistically shaped miniature trees in the containers, which has a long history of more than 800 years in Japan.
Bonsai is the art in which a person create not only by unique techniques but with profound observation and insight for the nature.
In 1998, a group of Bonsai lovers established Pakistan Bonsai Society. The Society members have been practicing and promoting Bonsai enthusiastically all over Pakistan since then.
Consul-General Toshikazu Isomura congratulated on the successful arrangement of Bonsai Exhibition which has been held since 1998.
He appreciated the member of Pakistan Bonsai Society for their efforts in promoting Bonsai art in Pakistan .
He was hopeful that the Bonsai Exhibition will contribute to the deepening of understanding on Japan in Pakistan and the promotion of friendship between Japan and Pakistan .
