Pakistan grants license to new tourism promotion airline ‘North Air’

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued the Tourism Promotion and Regional Integration (TPRI) license to a newly launched private airline, North Air to boost tourism in the northern areas of the country.
According to the details issued by CAA, North Air will conduct flight operations in Gilgit, Skardu, Chitral, and Gwadar. ------------------------------

The routes on which the airline will conduct flight operations initially are:
1. Islamabad-Gilgit 2. Islamabad-Skardu 3. Islamabad-Chitral 4. Islamabad-Gwadar
The airline’s head office will be set up at the New Islamabad International Airport
Meanwhile, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) recently initiated direct flight operations from Lahore to northern areas as its first flight departed to Skardu carrying 153 passengers. ------------------------------

The national air carrier has also announced to conduct two weekly flights from Karachi to Skardu to facilitate tourists and boost tourism.
